General information on UH Hosting Ltd and Directors

UH Hosting was launched in May 2002 by James Smith, with the intention of specialising in UK based Windows Web Hosting. Shortly after the launch, we were able to launch other services, shell hosting and then Linux Shared Web Hosting.

In November 2003 UH Hosting became UH Hosting Ltd and VAT registered. By this time we were able to provide Unix Reseller Hosting, Co-location and Dedicated Servers. All the time we are expanding our client base and our target audience along with improving existing services to better suit changing client needs.

November 2005 saw UH Hosting Ltd sold to a larger company, Open Hosting Ltd. In an increasingly competitive market, the sale of the business was to provide improved service to clients and better position the company to grow further. UH Hosting Ltd will for the foreseeable future remain as its own legal entity and since November 2005, the company has benefited from investment by Open Hosting Ltd.

The future for UH Hosting Ltd is bright, we have a strong management team in place ready and able to provide the best hosting solutions available. We're able to meet any requirement, individual to big business hosting solutions are all possible with us.

Director Biographies

David Buckle

Position: Managing Director

David has many years of business experience. He originally worked for a major paint manufacturer as Marine Director. He now has interests in a number of Companies both in the Paint and IT industries. David is responsible for administration and development of our business strategy.

 
James Smith

Position: Director

James is the founder of UH Hosting Ltd. At the age of 16, in 2002 he started UH Hosting. In November 2005 he sold his majority stake to Open Hosting Ltd. His main responsibilities are to operate UH Hosting Ltd. Previously, at the age of 15, he founded and operated the popular online computer hardware review web site, Unique Hardware.

 
Chris Byrd

Position: Director

Chris is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), holds a BSc degree in Internet Computing and is a member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). With nearly 10 years of experience in the field, and previous involvement at board level with several hosting companies, Chris is currently the Technical Director of the Open Hosting Limited group.

 
Jonathan Buckle

Position: Director

Jonathan started in the hosting business back in 2000, when he operated Liquid online with co-founder Chris Byrd, he is currently the Operations Director for Open Hosting Limited.
